blessed be your name

This morning I woke up with Matt Redman's worship song, Blessed Be Your Name, stuck in my head. I don't get songs stuck in my head very often but when I do, I tend to have them in my head ALL. DAY. LONG.

Sure enough, I sang it in the shower this morning. I hummed it while I brushed my teeth. I listened to it on my iPod on the bus. I hummed it at my desk all morning long while I typed up invoices. And then, just for kicks, I googled the lyrics to read them and actually took the time to reflect on each line.

Blessed be Your name, in the land that is plentiful
where your streams of abundance flow .. blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name, when I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness .. blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name, when the sun's shining down on me ...
Blessed be Your name, on the road marked with suffering ...
You give and take away, my heart will choose to say blessed be Your name

I've always loved this song but now I think I love it even more. To worship and love God in good times & in bad ... to honor and praise Him whether you are happy or sad ... to have an outrageous faith. This is my goal in life.
